Individual Ergonomic Assessment

Personalised ergonomics assessment with an expert, anywhere, anytime.

We provide a one-on-one 30-minute virtual ergonomic assessment through video conferencing. During the assessment, a highly experienced and qualified ergonomist will gather information about an employee’s typical workday routines, patterns of movement, current workstation set-up, current discomfort and issues relating to their workstation, and other relevant information. After the evaluation, we will provide you with recommendations on the workstation set-up, behaviour/routine changes and recommended equipment (where agreed by the client in advance). This service is designed to get a full understanding of the ergonomic risks of an employee and to be able to provide personalised actionable recommendations, increase employee engagement and educate employees on what ergonomics can do for them. Our mission is to elevate the working experience of every employee.

Individual Ergonomic Assessment

Individual Ergonomic Assessment

A one-to-one ergonomics evaluation either in person or over video conferencing with one of our highly experienced Ergonomists. With an emphasis on education, the Ergonomist will take the employee through a full assessment of their workstation, habits and routines to understand each individual’s circumstances and from there, provide actionable recommendations and workstation adjustments. Using Ergo Global’s assessment software, the Ergonomist will document the evaluation. Each report is quality checked by another Ergonomist and each person will receive a check in email at a later date to ensure there are no further issues.

Every ergonomist can perform an individual remote ergonomic evaluation for office and remote workers from anywhere in the world. This virtual evaluation runs for about 30 minutes, or 60 minutes for medical, return to work or neurodiverse evaluations. After gathering information about the ergonomic situation of an employee, our ergonomist will focus on discussing the importance of ergonomics in the workplace. We spend a lot of time on education as it is our main focus. Depending on the client’s requirements, we may also allocate risk scores and recommend ergonomics accessories that have been agreed upon in an approved product list by the employer before the evaluation.

What can we offer to your employees?

Suitable for office and remote workers

We perform individual virtual ergonomic evaluations for employees working on-site or remotely. We understand that each employee has a unique situation driven by their individual behaviours, routines, physical, psychological and personal influences, the equipment he or she operates, the furniture used and the overall working environment. More often, there’s a huge difference between ergonomic risks for employees working on-site versus employees working remotely. By taking the individual approach, we can do a more accurate assessment and deliver personalised actionable reports.

The benefit of virtual evaluations
Use of video conferencing to provide ergonomics evaluations for those working remotely or from home. It means that everyone, regardless of their location, at home or in the office, can have:

  • Access to evaluations.
  • Support from a virtual ergonomics consultant as required.
  • Attend group educational sessions on the importance of ergonomics at work.

What happens during a virtual ergonomics evaluation?

A one-to-one 30-minute ergonomics evaluation over video conferencing using Ergo Global’s assessment software to document the evaluation and generate a report. During this time, brief background information gathering is done to understand if the user has any aches, pains or conditions before starting the assessment. Next, we find out about the user’s typical work day to understand their computer/work demands. After this, through detailed questioning and use of the camera/video we make an ergonomic desk assessment and use ergonomic and anthropometric theory to instruct on adjustments to improve the desk set up as required using the equipment/furniture that is already in situ. The user is educated on the importance of ergonomics at work and using devices on the move and at home and, where required and with knowing what is available at each site, we may recommend the use of ergonomics accessories. Follow-up contact is made with the user (after an agreed period) to ensure that the new setup is meeting their needs and no further active ergonomics support is required.

I would like to say thank you for participating in our APAC Safety Week 2020. We exceeded the capacity and reached over 1k during the webinar and had an overwhelming response from all our APAC employees. Some of the positive feedback received already was the exercises and the interactive approach of the session and this was very much appreciated as most of us are working from home

Frequently Asked Questions about Individual ergonomic assessment

What if we have specific furniture or equipment we want used by our employees?

This is all identified and agreed upon prior to completing evaluations with employees. We will work with you to identify what furniture and equipment is already available. We work with each individual employee to improve the setup of what they currently have. Where required and previously agreed, we may make equipment recommendations.

What if we have employees sharing spaces i.e. hot desk model?

This is not a problem! We educate the employee on how to set up the workspace for their own requirements. This will mean the employee has the tools to adapt their own space as required.

Can you do evaluations of meeting rooms or standing stations?

Yes! We can do this and work with each employee to ensure that they know how best to set up the space for their own personal use. This could also be covered in a group education session.

What if the employee has queries or is having issues after the evaluation?

We follow up with each employee 2 weeks post completing the evaluation. We can go through any issues via email or decide if further input is required.

Can an evaluation be arranged to address a specific issue that an employee is experiencing?

Yes! We start our evaluations by discussing any specific concerns or issues that the employee has. From there, we find out about the employees work routine, and go through a detailed assessment of each piece of furniture and equipment that the employee uses.
