To Note
Togo does not have a single “ergonomics act,” but ergonomics regulation is integrated into its Labor Code 2021 Law No. 2021-012 of June 18, 2021.
Article 2 of this labor code states that remote work is also covered by the regulations of the code.

The Duties of
The Employer
-
Article 216
The employer is responsible for implementing the measures prescribed by the provisions of this title and by the regulations issued for its implementation. The employer is required to report to the labor and social legislation inspector, within forty-eight working hours, any workplace accident or occupational disease occurring in the company or establishment. The procedures for this report are set out in the legislation concerning workplace accidents and occupational diseases. Regarding occupational diseases, the date of the first certified medical diagnosis of the disease is considered to be the date of the accident. -
Article 217
Every company or establishment shall observe appropriate hygiene, safety, and health measures. These measures include, in particular:
1. actions to prevent occupational risks;
2. information and training actions;
3. the implementation of an appropriate organization and resources;
4. Compliance with social and environmental standards established by the relevant services or bodies. -
Article 218
The employer has a general obligation to provide safety training to all of its employees.
It pays particular attention to the risks incurred by employees under fixed-term contracts and temporary work contracts.
These employees receive information on the specific risks of the company or establishment in which they are temporarily employed.
The list of workstations presenting particular risks is drawn up by the employer, after consultation with the occupational health and safety inspector and the occupational health and safety committee, or, failing that, the employee representatives.
For the assessment of risks to the health and safety of workers, the employer takes into account the nature of the activities in the establishment or company, the manufacturing processes, the work equipment, and the chemical products or substances.
